Tim Burton's "Frankenweenie" and Liam Neeson in "Taken 2" Open in Theaters Today

#1.)  "Frankenweenie"  (PG)  Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 

Tim Burton's new Disney movie is a black and white, 3-D stop-motion animated movie about a boy who uses science to resurrect his dead dog Sparky, kind of like the original "Frankenstein"

It has the voices of Winona RyderMartin LandauMartin ShortCatherine O'Hara, and watch out for an appearance by the legendary Christopher Lee as Dracula.

(It's actually a big budget remake of a 30-minute short film Tim Burton made back in 1984 that WASN'T animated.  You can watch the entire original here.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

#2.)  "Taken 2"  (R)  Trailer 

Liam Neeson is a retired CIA agent fighting to rescue his family from kidnappers.  Again.  This time it's his wife who's taken . . . because the kidnappers want revenge for all the guys he killed while rescuing his daughter in the first movie. 

Maggie Grace from "Lost" plays his daughter, and Famke Janssen from the "X-Men" movies plays her kidnapped mother.

 

 

 

 

 

 

#3.)  "Pitch Perfect"  (PG-13)  (Trailer)

Anna Kendrick revamps a college a capella group so they can compete against their male rivals.  It also stars Brittany Snow and the succulent Rebel Wilson.

"The Oranges" stars "Gossip Girl's" Leighton Meester as a rebellious daughter who returns home for Thanksgiving and is caught having an affair with her dad's best friend, who's played by Hugh Laurie.  It also stars Oliver Platt and Allison Janney as her parents, and Adam Brody as Hugh's son.  (Trailer)

 

 

 

 

 

 

"The Paperboy" stars Matthew McConaughey as an investigative reporter trying to prove that death row inmate John Cusack was framed for murder by the corrupt local sheriff. 

It also stars Zac EfronNicole Kidman, and Macy Gray, and it's directed by Lee Daniels, the guy who did "Precious".  He wanted Nicole to say the N-word during one of her scenes, but she flat out REFUSED.  (Trailer)
