Four Ways to Do Thanksgiving Dinner as a Couple

11/16/2012

Thanksgiving is tricky when you're dating someone, and have to decide where to spend the holiday.  So if you haven't committed to a plan because you don't want to upset anyone, here are four options for how to spend Thanksgiving as a couple . . .

#1.)  Alternate Thanksgiving Dinners.  If your families live far apart from each other, you can either spend the holiday separately, or agree to do one family's Thanksgiving this year, and the other family next year.

#2.)  Do Both Thanksgiving Lunch and Dinner.  If everyone lives close enough, try to get one of your families to do their meal earlier in the day, like a Thanksgiving lunch.  Then head over to the other family's place for dinner.

#3.)  Host Thanksgiving Dinner Yourself.  If you're up for it, the best way to make EVERYONE happy is to just host dinner at your place, and invite both families.

#4.)  Do Thanksgiving Dinner For Two.  If your families are too far away, you're too broke to travel, or you just don't want to deal with all the chaos, there's nothing wrong with breaking tradition and doing Thanksgiving dinner with just the two of you.
