Only 6% of People Think Dinner-and-a-Movie is a Good First Date

1/18/2013

At some point in the past 10 or 20 years, Americans made the DEFINITIVE transition away from the dinner and a movie date.  We're all about the alcohol now.  Maybe, deep down, we always were.  In a new survey, only 6% of single people said that the ideal first date is dinner and a movie.

The number one answer for the ideal first date was cocktails after work, with 44% of the vote.

The survey also found 70% of people say they would most want to date someone who works in a completely different industry than they do, and only 8% of people said they'd be willing to get into a new relationship with someone long distance.
