Charlie Sheen Bought a Therapy Dog for a Girl Injured by a Malfunctioning Amusement Park Ride

CHARLIE SHEEN threw down $10,000 on a therapy dog for a Wisconsin girl who was seriously injured when she fell 100 feet from a malfunctioning amusement park ride back in 2010. Teagan Marti, who's 15 years old now, suffered brain, spinal, pelvis and internal injuries. She was hospitalized for three months, and had to go to physical therapy to regain the use of her arms and legs.
Marti is in a tough spot financially. Her mother Julie says the medical bills were crippling, insurance isn't covering physical therapy anymore and their house is being foreclosed on. Plus, she recently went through a divorce.
But someone the Martis know happens to have a connection to Charlie's godfather, so they contacted Charlie through him. They estimated the cost for the dog would be around $6,000. Charlie sent ten grand. He says, "I like to pay it forward. People come into your orbit for a reason. You don't always know what that is ahead of time, but if I ignore these requests then I don't have any opportunity to see where these things lead us, or lead me."
Teagan says, "I think he's a very kind person for helping me and my family and very generous." And Julie adds, "I'm in such disbelief. I was crying . . . What a guy. What a guy."
Charlie said he doesn't publicize most of the donations he makes, but wanted to get this one out there to inspire others to give. He added, "I think they should name the dog Charlie."
