The Girl Scouts Made Honey Boo Boo Stop Selling Cookies Online

3/1/2013

The Girl Scouts aren't letting HONEY BOO BOO sell their cookies online, because it gives her an UNFAIR ADVANTAGE. Oh, and also because she's not even a Girl Scout. She's selling them for a friend.  Honey Boo Boo put an ad for the cookies on her Facebook page, which has over 700,000 likes. But the Girl Scouts made her take it down, because online selling by ANYONE, let alone a celebrity, is against the rules.

It apparently defeats the purpose of selling the cookies, which is to expose young girls to potential predators by making them knock on strangers' doors.   Or maybe it's to teach them goal-setting, people skills and money management. We're not sure.

Honey Boo Boo's MAMA JUNE says they've been helping this friend sell her cookies for three years, and they're going to keep helping, even if they can't do it online.  She says,  "If I can raise more money for a troop, whoever they are, especially in an area where they don't get a lot of money, and parents can't afford to buy a ton of cookies, why wouldn't I help?  We're doing nothing wrong."
