No One Thinks You Should Get Married in Your Early 20s Anymore

11/14/2012

A few generations ago, if you DIDN'T get married in your early 20s, people thought there was something wrong with you.  Today, it's the exact opposite.  According to a new survey, only 11% of women and 10% of men say they think the best time to get married is between 20 and 24.

The MUCH more popular answer is the late 20s.  53% of women and 44% of men say the best time to get married is when you're between 25 and 29.

18% of women and 24% of men say the ideal time to get married is your early 30s.  After that there's a HUGE drop off.  Only 3% of men and 2% of women say 35 to 39 is the best time to get married.  1% of men and 0% of women say 40 and up is right.

And 3% of men and 2% of women say the right age to get married is . . . never.

There's another old wedding tradition that people are gravitating away from too.  55% of people say a couple should NOT rely on their parents to pay for their whole wedding.  And only 5% say the bride's parents should still pay for everything.
