Here Are Three Random Pieces of Fast Food News
2/5/2013

#1.) Today is National Pancake Day. Because well, as far as we can tell, because IHOP said so seven years ago. But at least they back it up: If you go to IHOP today, from 7:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M., you get one free short stack of pancakes. It's actually to raise awareness and money for the Children's Miracle Network hospitals. You're encouraged to make a voluntary donation while you're there, and last year they pulled in $3 million.

#2.) Costco is PLAYING WITH FIRE here. Since 1985, they've been offering a deal where you get a hot dog and a Coke for $1.50. As far as we know, just about EVERYONE who goes to Costco buys that. But now, they're changing it. The price will stay $1.50, but all 400 Costcos will now serve PEPSI instead of COKE. Pepsi outbid Coke, and Costco will now serve approximately 31 MILLION gallons of Pepsi per year. So get ready for Costco to ask you, "Is Pepsi okay?"

#3.) In-N-Out Burger is a family-owned chain, and they're sticking with that, even if this sounds like it could be DANGEROUS for business. In-N-Out's SOLE owner is now a 30-year-old named Lynsi Torres, whose grandparents founded the company. Lynsi is America's youngest female BILLIONAIRE, at age 30. She's also on her THIRD marriage, has no college degree, owns a $17.4 MILLION, 16,600-square foot mansion, and is a competitive DRAG RACER.
