44% of Americans Are Cool Trash-Talking Their Spouse’s Outfit?

Pretty much EVERYONE has had a significant other ask them, “How does this shirt look?” or “Do I look fat in these jeans?”  But NOT everyone has the same options for how to answer that question.

In a poll, 44% of people say they’ve told a romantic partner that they didn’t like something they wore.  Which is bold, but honest.  48% have NEVER done that.  And 8% can’t remember.

Brutal honesty like that is most common in the South.  Midwesterners are the LEAST likely to say anything bad about something their partner is wearing.

Women are MUCH more likely to be honest to men than vice-versa.  And Generation X is MUCH more likely to be honest than Gen Z’ers.  (Of course, you don’t have to TRASH-TALK their style, you could say you “might like” another look or option better.  Especially if you’re a Midwesterner.)

Also:  30% of people say they HAVE influenced the fashion sense of a partner, and that jumps to 34% of women.  And 31% say they have had their own fashion sense influenced by a partner, and that number jumps to 35% of men.
