Starbucks has announced a goal to get rid of disposable cups by 2025. They are testing several solutions. However, their favorite one at the moment involves people “borrowing” reusable cups and later bringing them back to a Starbucks location. Starbucks has a problem far bigger than baristas struggling to spell Brad. Starbucks has an iconic cup, but there’s a downside to that. They say it’s now considered a “ubiquitous symbol of a throwaway society.” So they have a new goal: To completely get rid of disposable cups by 2025.
