New in Theaters: “Final Destination: Bloodlines” and The Weeknd’s “Hurry Up Tomorrow”

1.  “Hurry Up Tomorrow”  (R)  Trailer

Abel Tesfaye plays a musician plagued by insomnia and on the verge of a mental breakdown.  After losing his voice at his latest concert, he runs off with a disturbed fan (Jenna Ortega) who, “unravels the core of his existence.”

Barry Keoghan from the upcoming Ringo Starr movie plays his manager.

The movie is a companion piece to his latest album of the same name that came out on January 31st.  Abel had said he planned to retire his stage name of The Weeknd after the release of that album and this movie but he’s backed off of that recently.

 

 

2.  “Final Destination: Bloodlines”  (R)  Trailer

This is the sixth movie in the “Final Destination” franchise.  It stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana as a college student who starts having nightmares about a disaster that never happened because her grandmother had a premonition about it in the 1960s.

As her family starts being killed off one by one, she learns that Death is coming for the survivors and all of their descendants.  And now she has to race against time to figure out how to save them, and herself.

Horror legend Tony Todd returns as William Bludworth, the funeral home owner from the first two movies, to guide them on how they might be able to cheat Death.
