1. “How to Train Your Dragon” (PG) Trailer
The live action movie stars Mason Thames as Hiccup, the overlooked son of a Viking chief whose people have been bitter enemies of dragons for generations.
Gerard Butler voiced Hiccup’s dad in the animated movie, and he returns to that same role for the live action version. Nick Frost is the village blacksmith, and Thandiwe Newton’s daughter Nico Parker plays Astrid.
Some of you may know Mason from the 2021 horror movie “The Black Phone”. And you might remember Nico as Joel’s daughter Sarah on “The Last of Us”.
2. “Materialists” (R) Trailer
A romantic comedy starring Dakota Johnson as a professional matchmaker who’s torn between two men despite the fact that she’s vowed she’ll only marry a rich man. Chris Evans is a working-class ex-boyfriend she reunites with on the same night that she meets Pedro Pascal, a rich guy who checks all her boxes.
3. “The Life of Chuck” (R) Trailer
A sci-fi drama based on a novella by Stephen King. The movie is told in reverse chronological order and narrated by Nick Offerman. It stars Tom Hiddleston as adult Chuck and Jacob Tremblay as both Chuck’s son and as teenage Chuck.
Mark Hamill plays Chuck’s grandfather and Mia Sara from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” is his grandmother. The cast also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor from “Doctor Strange” and Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula in “Guardians of the Galaxy”.
