Amazon Kept Sending a Woman Hundreds of Fake Leather Seat Covers

You might’ve heard about “brushing”, an online shopping scam where people get packages sent to them, with random crap inside.  It might seem fun, but this lady is NOT happy about what’s happening to her.

A woman in San Jose, California has been getting HUNDREDS of Amazon packages over the past year, and they ALL contain the same thing:  Oversized fake leather car seat covers, which were made in China.

They’re scattered all over her property, and she can’t fit her car inside her garage anymore.  She’s also refused delivery on hundreds more.

She repeatedly complained to Amazon, but they gave her the run-around.

They promised the deliveries would stop, but they didn’t.  They told HER to dispose of the boxes herself, or donate them, but the woman said she couldn’t afford to do that, and no charity wants hundreds of fake leather seat covers.

She contacted the local news, and they looked into it.

It turns out that the Amazon seller was in China, and they randomly put HER address as the return address, because then they wouldn’t have to pay to have these large boxes sent all the way back to China.  (It was a scam to get around Amazon’s international policy.)

Once the woman’s story aired on the news, Amazon finally sent a truck to her house to pick up all the boxes, and they’ve supposedly taken care of the issue so she never receives any more.

(Speaking of Amazon, we’re in the middle of Amazon Prime “Week”.  There are reports that sales are down this time around, but Amazon denies it.)

(Here’s to hoping they add a hot deal on FAKE LEATHER SEAT COVERS!)
