1. This may be the most epic “baseball injury”: In the 1990s, there was an MLB player named Glenallen Hill. He played for seven teams, and was decent.
While with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1990, Glenallen had a nightmare about spiders. He tried to run away in the dream, and ended up sleepwalking in real life. He fell through a glass table, and suffered cuts on his toes and elbows, as well as carpet burns on his knees. He spent 20 days on the injured list.
2. The oldest hotel in the world is a hot spring hotel in Japan called Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan. It was founded over 1,300 years ago, in 705 A.D.
3. Most kangaroos are left-handed.
4. There’s a word for HALF a decade, or five years: It’s called a “lustrum.” As in: It’s hard to believe it’s been a lustrum since the pandemic broke out.
5. The Beatles mention a walrus in THREE songs: “Glass Onion”, “Come Together”, and, of course, “I Am the Walrus”. They sure liked walruses?
