A Gambling Site Calculated the Odds for Each Thanksgiving Side

I don’t know if these odds are accurate, but you can put money on ME eating a few of these tomorrow . . . possibly twice.  The sports betting site Action Network looked at a bunch of popular Thanksgiving sides, and the ODDS they’ll end up on a typical Thanksgiving plate.

It’s not the odds each side will be OFFERED.  The odds of finding them on someone’s plate are lower, because not all of us like the same stuff.  Here are the Top 10:

1.  Mashed potatoes.  Show up at a random Thanksgiving and check someone’s plate . . . there’s a 37% chance they’ll have mashed potatoes on there.

2.  Stuffing, 36%.  It ranked second, but it’s the most likely side in 26 states.

3.  Mac-and-cheese, 32%

4.  Cranberry sauce, 21%

5.  Sweet potato casserole, 19%

6.  Green bean casserole, 15%

7.  Gravy, 11%

8.  Baked potato, 11%

9.  Butternut squash, 11%

10.  Brussels sprouts, 10%

Mashed potatoes are the top side out West, in the Midwest, and in New England.

Mac-and-cheese is the most likely side across most of the South.

Stuffing is the most likely side everywhere else, except for ONE state: Kentucky loves corn pudding.
