Tis the season for Girl Scout cookie lovers: it’s almost time to stock up on your sweet treats.
Girl Scouts is an organization that helps girls develop skills and confidence through annual community service and projects like the Girl Scout Cookie Program.
The organization says selling cookies allows its Girl Scouts to “practice and develop entrepreneurial skills.”
“From learning how to interact with customers to creating budgets and taking orders, the Girl Scout Cookie Program teaches Girl Scouts invaluable skills they’ll need to succeed throughout their lives,” the organization’s website says.
Aside from the charitable aspect of the program, some cookie flavors, like Thin Mints, are so popular that they have garnered a cult following. Here’s what to know for the upcoming season.
When is Girl Scout cookie season?
Girl Scout cookie season varies depending on the local council, but most councils conduct their season between January and April, according to the organization.
Some areas around the country have already started selling cookies as of late December.
