Let’s be honest: Most internet debates are stupid. But I found THIS ONE amusing . . .
A silly online poll asked, “Would you rather be a dummy who looks intellectual, or an intellectual who looks like a dummy?” (They actually used the word “dumb-ass,” which is funnier, but not as PG-rated.)
There was a clear winner: 88% of people said they’d rather look like a dummy, but actually be an intellectual. 12% said they’d rather look smart, even if it meant being a dummy.
Several people commented things like, “Appearances can be deceiving. Let people judge me on my supposed lesser looks, and I’ll turn that to my advantage.”
And others warned that it’s actually a BURDEN to LOOK smart but be dumb, and they should know, because they’re already struggling with that.
