The Most Deceitful States, Where Residents Lie, Cheat, and Scam

We’ve all heard about hackers from Russia, scammers from Southeast Asia, and of course “Nigerian Princes.”  But perhaps you’re more likely to be swindled by shady Americans, especially in Sin City.

A new study looked into the “most deceitful states,” where residents lie, cheat, scam, and steal the most.  And no, the goody two-shoes in Utah aren’t at the top.

Nevada ranks as America’s most deceitful state, with one in five residents admitting they lie often, and almost 60,000 reports of fraud per year.

Here’s the rest of the Top 10:

2.  Rhode Island.  A whopping 40% of residents admit they lie frequently.

3.  Florida.  People in Florida reported the most identity theft cases per capita.

6.  Alabama

7.  California

8.  Arizona

9.  Georgia

10.  Pennsylvania

 

On the other end of the spectrum, North Dakota is the most trustworthy state, where NO locals in the survey reported lying often, and fraud cases are minimal.  North Dakota is followed by . . .

Overall, Americans tell an average of 11 lies per week.  And more than half say they have been cheated on.
