1. “Hoppers” (PG) Trailer
The latest Pixar movie is sort of like “Avatar” in the animal kingdom. After a college student transfers her consciousness into the body of a robotic beaver, she can suddenly understand the language of all the other animals, and accidentally inspires them to rebel against the humans.
It stars Piper Curda, who some of you Disney kids may remember from the 2014 Disney Channel sitcom “I Didn’t Do It”. The rest of the voice cast includes Jon Hamm, Bobby Moynihan, Kathy Najimy, and Dave Franco.
2. “The Bride!” (R) Trailer
This reimagining on “The Bride of Frankenstein” is written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal and set in 1930s Chicago.
It stars Christian Bale as Frankenstein’s monster and Jessie Buckley as his murdered bride, with “Frank” asking Annette Bening to create a companion for him after wandering the world alone for too many years.
Most of the movie explores the relationship between Frank and his new bride, unlike the original, where she only came to life in the last 10 minutes. The rest of the cast includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Penelope Cruz, and Peter Sargaard.
