The Iran war has caused gas prices to SOAR, and not surprisingly, you won’t just be paying for your own gas. It’s being added to deliveries, to pass those costs down to you.
The U.S. Postal Service wants to impose a temporary 8% fuel surcharge for package and express deliveries to deal with rising gas prices.
The Postal Regulatory Commission has to approve it, and if they do, the surcharge would take effect on April 26th, and remain until at least January 17th of next year.
The 8% fee would apply to postage on all Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select products.
FedEx and UPS already impose rolling fuel surcharges, and they’ve also spiked since the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran on February 28th.
