Good news for prospective homeowners, there is slightly more affordable housing this year than there was in 2025. There are now 14 U.S. cities where at least 50% of the available.listings are affordable. Unfortunately, none are in Northern Nevada.
And in case you were wondering, an “affordable” home, according to Zillow, is where the price of your mortgage takes up less than 30% of your monthly budget.

5. Baltimore, Maryland
6. Cincinnati, Ohio

8. Kansas City, Missouri
9. Birmingham, Alabama
10. Cleveland, Ohio
The most unaffordable cities are: Los Angeles, San Diego, California, Providence, Rhode Island, San Jose, California, and New York City.
