Women Are More Likely to Prefer Hearing Music at Bars and Restaurants

If you went to a bar this weekend, are you still HOARSE from yelling your conversations over “Don’t Stop Believin'”, “Mr. Brightside”, and “Wagon Wheel” loudly playing in the background?

A new poll asked people, “How often would you want there to be music playing when you go to restaurants, cafes, or bars?”

18% of people said “always”, 28% said “usually”, another 28% said “sometimes”, 9% said “rarely”, and 5% said “never.”  Those people must prefer to sit in silence, so they can whisper sweet-nothings to their date.  (???)

Not surprisingly, OLDER people are less into music being played.

More surprisingly, WOMEN are much more into listening to music than MEN. 22% of women say they’d “always” want some kind of music playing, compared to just 14% of men.

Of course, this was just music in general, and a lot of people may have a different opinion based on WHAT GENRE the music is, HOW LOUD it is, and the level of TALENT, if it’s live music.
