Would you go back and do high school all over again if you could? A poll for graduation season asked thousands of Americans, and most said YES. 55% would go back and do it again, but most said they’d do things a little differently, 5% aren’t sure, 40% said no way, once was enough.
The poll looked at the most common high school experiences we shared. And #1 makes sense, but you might not guess it.
The poll asked about 50 different high school experiences to see how common they are, or were. Here are the Top 10:
1. Did you have a CRUSH on someone in high school? 87% of us did.
2. Had a specific friend group or clique? 83%
3. Took a class you loved? 79%
4. Took a class you hated? Also 79%
5. Went to at least one high school football game? 68%. 63% also went to at least one high school dance.
6. Kissed someone? 68%
7. Lied to your parents? 67%
8. Took the S.A.T. or A.C.T.? 66%
9. Went on a date? 65%
10. Had a boyfriend or girlfriend? 64%. (Only 36% had sex in high school.)
People were asked to rate their overall high school experience, and most of us DIDN’T actually hate it. 49% loved or liked high school, 28% felt ‘meh’ about it, 12% said “dislike”, and 8% hated the whole experience.
