Just when you thought you’d heard everything . . .
A 42-year-old man in Texas called police after he found a Bath & Body Works giftbag from his ex-fiancée on his front porch. There were some products inside, along with a copy of their marriage certificate.
There’s just one problem: He didn’t know they were married. And no, he wasn’t drunk or high or anything, there was never a ceremony.
Apparently, they DID go to the county clerk together three weeks ago to get a marriage license, but they broke up shortly afterward, before a wedding.
The fiancée, 36-year-old Kristin Spearman, somehow convinced a pastor to “certify” the marriage without the guy present, or signing off on it.
Kristin has been arrested for felony stalking.
It’s hard to imagine this “marriage” standing up in court, but according to the local authorities, the man is dealing with a mess, and is trying to make sure that there’s no threat to his life, including his property and finances.
The names of the “groom” and the pastor have not been released.
