It’s Friday, so you might be thinking about hitting up a Happy Hour. But the idea of Happy Hour has evolved from just an after-work bar routine.
Here are some stats on what makes a decent Happy Hour:
1. Most generations say that Friday is the best day for Happy Hour, but Gen Z’ers prefer Saturday.
2. AT HOME Happy Hours have become increasingly popular, compared to restaurants and bars, particularly with young adults. 39% of Gen Z say they’d prefer to spend Happy Hour at home. (Which sounds kinda like just getting drunk on the couch?)
3. But people aren’t just looking to have a quick drink and move on. 63% of people say the ideal Happy Hour should be three hours.
4. 60% say having non-alcoholic options at Happy Hour is appealing. And around that many say they personally prefer “low- or non-alcoholic beverages” at Happy Hour, rather than high-ABV craft beers and spirits.
5. Beer (53%) and wine (44%) are the most popular alcoholic drinks, but again, Gen Z’ers are a little different, preferring wine (54%) and hard seltzers (40%) to beer (39%).
It’s worth pointing out that these aren’t just work-related Happy Hours, some people say they like to do them with friends and even family. Older adults are the most likely to say that they prefer Happy Hours with coworkers.
