If you’re wondering how you should dress this morning, open a weather app. If you’re wondering how you should dress YOUR SALAD today, well, here’s an idea: Today is National Ranch Day.
If you love ranch, you aren’t the only one. Americans consume 100 million bottles of ranch dressing annually, which is worth around $1.7 BILLION. And the average person consumes ranch 15 times a year. (If this sounds WAY LOW to you, don’t be embarrassed, be proud.)
Americans were recently surveyed on their favorite condiments, and were given more than 20 condiments to rate and rank.
30% of people say they “love” ranch dressing, 35% “like” it, 18% don’t have an opinion somehow, 7% “dislike” it, and 8% “hate” it.
60% of people say they usually have ranch in stock at their home, and 7% would rank it as their “favorite” condiment, even over ketchup and peanut butter.
And get this: You know how some people carry special condiments with them wherever they go? Like how Beyoncé says she carries hot sauce with her on the go in the song, “Formation”?
Well, 16% of the people who do that say they carry their own RANCH, in a purse, bag, or backpack, in their car, or in an office drawer. (Or a fridge, with your name on it, and a padlock to keep other people’s grubby paws off!)
(This should go without saying, but as a reminder: Your precious ranch DOES need to be refrigerated once open. So if you don’t down all of it in one sitting, you should get it to a fridge sooner than later.)
