Stupid Criminal: A Man Says He Was Driving 101 Miles Per Hour, to “Avoid an Animal”

Cops have probably heard EVERY EXCUSE for speeding.  Most of them won’t help you, and some are weirder than others.

A 32-year-old man from Florida named Gregory Dolcine was pulled over last Wednesday around 1:00 A.M, after being clocked at 101 miles per hour, where the speed limit was 55.

The officer asked him why he was traveling at an “excessively high speed,” and he said he was “speeding to avoid an animal in the roadway.”  (???)

Sadly, it’s unclear what the animal was, or if he was trying to avoid hitting it, or feverishly running away from it.  (I mean, you don’t FLOOR IT just to dodge a squirrel or a dog.  Maybe it was an alligator, or a SASQUATCH!)

Gregory was arrested for super-speeding over 100 miles per hour, which is a harsher law that went into effect in Florida last year.
