Stupid Criminal: An Ex-Chick-fil-A Employee’s Bizarre Mac-and-Cheese Scheme Was Exposed

This guy isn’t a criminal mastermind, but I would love it if someone made a movie about him, so I could figure out what he was thinking.

A 23-year-old former Chick-fil-A employee in Texas named Keyshun Jones has finally been arrested after a really bizarre scheme involving mac-and-cheese that he executed back in November.

Keyshun was seen on security footage sneaking back behind the counter, ringing up around 800 mac-and-cheese tray orders, and then refunding them to his personal cards, for around $80,000.

Chick-fil-A is always packed, but somehow he pulled this off in street clothes, without anyone stopping him.  He might have known when to strike, because he used to work at that Chick-fil-A, but was fired the month before.

There aren’t a lot of details on how he pulled it off, or WHY he thought he might get away with it, but the managers noticed a loss of $80K in mac-and-cheese returns, looked at the video, and reported the theft.

The police launched an investigation, and apparently it took them five MONTHS to track him down.  He faces multiple felony charges, including property theft, money laundering, and evading arrest.

(Here’s Keyshun’s mugshot, and a video news report.)
