Five Random Facts for Thursday

Here are some random facts for you.

1.  Pop Rocks debuted in 1976, meaning that it’s now 50 years old.  It did disappear from 1980 to 1986, when everyone was worried that the candy caused kids to explode, like “Little Mikey” from the Life cereal commercials.

Little Mikey didn’t actually explode, it was just an urban legend.

2.  Kraft Mac and Cheese came out in 1937, during the Great Depression, and it was an instant hit, because it could serve a family of four for 19 cents.

3.  The only common English word that ends with the letters “mt” is “dreamt.”

4.  The most common city name in the world is San Jose.  There are 1,716 cities, towns, villages, counties, and regions named San Jose.  San Antonio is second.

5.  Michael Jordan still earns approximately $150 million a year from his Nike endorsement, nearly five times more than any other NBA star.
