Olivia and Liam Are the Most Popular Baby Names for the 7th Straight Year

The Social Security Administration just released the most popular baby names for 2025, and Olivia and Liam are the top names for the SEVENTH year in a row.  (Boring!)

The 10 most popular girl names in 2025 were . . .

1.  Olivia

2.  Charlotte . . . (Emma had been holding down the #2 spot for six years.)

3.  Emma

4.  Amelia

5.  Sophia

6.  Mia

7.  Isabella

8.  Evelyn

9.  Sofia

10.  Eliana

 

And the 10 most popular boy names in 2025 were . . .

1.  Liam

2.  Noah

3.  Oliver

4.  Theodore . . . (The top four boy names were exactly the same last year.)

5.  Henry

6.  James

7.  Elijah

8.  Mateo

9.  William

10.  Lucas

And one of the fastest-rising names for boys is “Kasai” . . . which means “fire” in Japanese and Swahili.  And “Klarity” for girls.  Both names are spelled with a “K”.

The Social Security Administration says about 3.6 million babies were born in the U.S. in 2025.
