48% of People Believe They’re Smarter Than Their Parents

Your parents come to you when they have a question about technology or A.I., and you go to them when you have a question about how to handle an IRA.  But overall, who’s the sharpest knife in the drawer?

A random online poll asked, “Do you personally feel like you’re currently smarter than your parents?”  And 48% of people said YES.

Another 19% said they’re smarter than ONE of their parents, but not the other.  And 31% said they’re NOT smarter than their parents.

You’d THINK that people would be pretty cocky or condescending in the comments, because the internet can be like that, but there were actually some cool responses.  Here are a few:

1.  “They may have certain beliefs or shortcomings in their character, but they have far more life experience and education.  No doubt they are smarter.”

2.  “It depends on how you define intelligence.  I’m better and quicker at understanding mathematical and scientific concepts than them, but they have a lot more experience, emotional maturity, and knowledge in other concepts.”

3.  “My parents are the perfect example of a good left brain / right brain relationship.  I think I’m smarter than one in one way, and another in another way.

“But they make the most high-functioning team I’ve ever seen.  I want to be like both of them, and they set the standard for how to be at their age.”

4.  “For the time we are living in, I am so much smarter.  If it was the ’80s, then they would be.”

5.  “My dad is watching A.I. Facebook reels right now, so yes.”
